Export-Import Bank Eximbank of Romania SA was founded in 1992 as a joint stock company, with the majority shareholder Roman State. Established in 1992 as a joint stock bank Eximbank of Romania Import Export SA is the only bank in the Romanian financial system that operates both the bank and the insurance institution. Its mission is clear: to stimulate exports and domestic investments abroad, through specific mechanisms, in order to contribute substantially to the development of the country's foreign trade. Eximbank is an essential part of mechanism to support the development of Romanian foreign trade, engaged in both name and your own account and in name and state as an agent of the State Government's economic policy. Since 2001, Export Import Bank Eximbank SA of Romania has started a restructuring process under World Bank advice in the PSAL. Thus it was decided to withdraw the bank from the onset of measures of commercial bank operations and bank offer rethinking that lead to the creation of products and services specific to ACE. Eximbank has supported in 2002, 14.53% of the total Romanian exports.
