What are the BSB Numbers ?

The BSB number is a 6 digit code use to identify financial inatitutions in Australia. It is the acronym for Bank State Branch. The account are identified by this 6 digit number plus the account number.  The format of the BSB number is XXY-ZZZ.

    The first 2 digits (XX) are used to identify the financial institution (bank);
  • The third digit shows the branch;
  • The last 3 digits (YYY) are unique identifiers of the branch. 

The BSB numbers are managed by the Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA).
